FRIDAY LETTER JULY 15,2022

New roof on the old office.

We hired Vashon Custom Homes (Richard Singer) to replace our old office roof. Our old office roof was under built and failing (It had a great big bow) in the new budget we had set out money for replacing the roof that means tearing off the entire roof system and rebuilding it with 2×6 instead of 2×4 Re sheeting it with 5/8 plywood new facia and soffits and a new meatal roof to match the rest of the building, and at the same time they will be re-placing the rest of the soffits and facia on the rest of the building that are failing as well.

Cleaning the siloes.

Every five years we hire an outfit to clean the siloes this is our water storage (Two concrete tanks combined hold 320,000 gallons of water) as part of keeping in good water quality. In the past we hired Liquivision Technology divers they scuba dive into the tank with hoses and suck out sediment and manganese build up; they are based out of Texas. It’s a dangerous job and that makes it expensive.

I found and outfit based in Bellingham Washington that doesn’t send divers into the tanks they have rovers (remote operating vehicles two of them) one person operates one that has a camera on it that swims around the tank and the other one is like a moon rover that has a vacuum cleaner style head attached to it. As one cleans the other is mapping the inside of the tank looking for cracks and other possible problems watching them it looks like they are playing a video game it works really well. I haven’t received the report yet but watching the camara they did a good job cleaning and it’s almost half the price of divers.

This work was completed last Wednesday.

HAPPY FESTIVAL AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
