President’s Report:

Manager/Operator Report:

  • Potential change of scope for new wells at Dockton Springs
    • Recent conversations indicate WA Dept. of Health may not approve three (3) new wells at site without a new filtration system or treatment plant; the contact basin may be deemed insufficient. Options to address include:
      • Add a bag filter system to the Dockton Springs. This would require new design and feasibility study by Gray & Osborne. Based upon current contract and dollar amount still available to be spent, Gray & Osborne could only complete ~30% plan.
      • Drill the three new wells anyway under the current plan, but risk that WA DoH may not approve them.
      • Adapt plan to cancel drilling three new wells and instead build a new filtration system to connect to existing five wells on King Co. property that we are trying to bring online.
      • Indefinitely postpone Dockton Springs construction and change focus to other capital projects.

Water Production Committee:

CIP Planning Committee:

Finance Committee:

  • Quarterly financial report

Community Outreach Committee:

Old Business / Carryover Items:

  • Update on preservation and restoration of DWA building. (Susan)

New Business / Discussion Items:

  • King Co. submitted a formal offer to purchase a conservation easement on DWA’s property on the west end of SW 268th St, near Hake Rd. The conservation easement would prohibit future development of the site, and would expand the protected area of the Manzanita Natural Area. The proposed purchase price is $590,000. The DWA Board should consider the following:
    • The merits and feasibility of the current offer.
    • Decide whether to outright reject the offer, or if the offer is sufficient to warrant further conversation. If additional conversation is desired, the Board should decide what steps and timeline to pursue to collect input from Shareholders, etc.
