President’s Report (April)
- N/A
Manager/Operator Report (Dave)
- Alarms and communication for Sandy Shores, S&B is coming up with a package that is common for water facilities. Could cost $2-3k, with the antenna array being additional. Should solve our communications issues.
- It will include communications for the silo.
- G&O has identified areas around the springs designated as wetlands. Survey work will come out next week.
- Water main break in Sandy Shores – We’ve paid for the pumping of her septic tank and she needs us to clear her new driveway. Dave cleared it out yesterday.
- BHC for PRV location project should be submitting to 60% design soon. Stay tuned.
- At the springs – The control cabinets backup battery device was beeping. Both batteries have gone bad. New batteries have been ordered.
- Booster pump station – The motor for the 3/4 HP pump was burnt out, the existing backup pump motor was used, we need to replace the backup.
Committee Reports:
Finance Committee (Todd):
- Revenues are starting to pick up related to the rate change. We should be well ahead of budget by November.
- Costs – Business Ops is very under budget
- Systems ops are a little high, perhaps related to propane purchase and the chlorine pump hit operations pretty hard. The chlorine pump was included in small tools budget.
- We moved $100,000 from our checking account (US Bank) to a savings account at Kitsap Bank, which should provide some interest income.
- We still have a sufficient cushion in our checking account for cash flow needs.
- Online billing – We have the info we need to continue those conversations – web-based billing portal for our customers.
- Based on preliminary Sept numbers – we have about $100 a month going out and we’re collecting about $50.
Water Production Committee (Paul):
- Dave covered most issues
- Silos – Mount Baker Silos – We’re 40 years in on a 50 year cycle, we could go 70 years if we baby it, he’s going to come out in the spring. Price quote for a new water tower at the existing site would be $300k.
- On our last sanitation survey, we were flagged for the vent and there was a small note on the hatches. The new package would meet the sanitation guidelines for the hatches.
CIP and Planning Committee (Darton)
- We’re adding the silo to the CIP list
