WATER MAIN LEAK.
I received a phone call at 7:30am yesterday from Frank Zellerhoff JR informing me there was a water leak at the corner of 99th AVE and Windmill ST. When I showed up water was running down the ditch on the east side of the road and water was coming out a water main valve cap on the other side of the road. I did the usual, I called in an emergency dig permit Frank rallied his crew and equipment. Because of great water main valve placement we were able to isolate the leak without turning anyone’s water off, once we exposed the water main there was an old abandoned two inch water main that had not been properly decommissioned, the two inch P.V.C line that was taped into the active water main had failed. The fix was simple, un thread what was left of the two inch line and valve from the saddle on the main and
put a plug in it.
