More of the same. We continue to bill less water usage than last year. We are now right in line with budget, no longer slightly ahead. Our billing structure, which shifted a bit more towards water usage, should generate higher income through the summer. (Getting us ahead before the long winter months.) System Operations continues to run far under budget by managing expenses and no consulting fee for the Water System Plan, yet. (Note: we are finding that we can “streamline” the process to update the plan and cost is now expected to be less than proposed.)
We also have kept System Replacements costs at $0, which is really helping our total funds balance. If you sum the Budgeted “Ending Balance” for all funds you get $230k. We currently have $337k in the bank. So, even after paying out the Construction Retainer of $22k (early next fiscal year, I’d guess), we will be nearly $100k “richer” than projected — about 30% greater fund balance as we work to rebuild our reserves.
